Golden Falcons drop softball opener to Hunt in 8 innings

PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock scored three runs in the eighth inning but came up short in a 13-12, season-opening loss to Wilson Hunt on Wednesday night.
The two teams combined to score 14 runs in the final two innings.
Keeley Fulgham led the Golden Falcons with three hits and three RBI. Mackenzie Wheeler had three hits and an RBI. Meredith Burroughs (two RBI) and Cierra Harris (two RBI) and Connor Vinson each had two hits.
Madison Walton (two RBI) and Katie Gay (RBI) each contributed a hit.
Aycock (0-1) travels to Rosewood on Friday.
