Cougars triumph in Harper's debut

First-year Goldsboro head coach Mike Harper earned his first win with a season-opening, 22-1 rout of Neuse Charter on Wednesday in five innings.
Sterling Dodson led the Cougars with two hits. Jared Howard (three RBI), Kenny Stempien (3 RBI), Cayce Herring (RBI), Damon Pate (RBI), Isaiah Core and Zach Falconer each had a hit.
Goldsboro (1-0) travels to Hobbton on Friday.
