* CALYPSO -- Savon Scott pumped in 16 points and North Duplin turned back county archrival James Kenan, 58-42, in the Carolina 1-A Conference regular-season finale for both teams Friday evening.
The Tigers (14-6 overall) tumbled to third place in the standings at 10-4 behind first-year member Neuse Charter and Princeton.
Cody Ivey added 10 points for the Rebels, who concluded the season 6-14 overall. James Britt chipped in nine points. Cedrick Kornegay and Daron Goodman supplied seven points apiece.
John Brooks led Kenan with 16 points.
Girls' basketball

North Duplin 16
* CALYPSO -- James Kenan pitched a second-quarter shutout and cruised past county rival North Duplin, 53-16, in the Carolina 1-A Conference regular-season finale for both teams Friday evening.
Dezarae Phillips paced the Tigers' offense with 15 points. Christy Debnam chipped in 12 points.
Shaily McCarty emerged the Rebels' scorer with 13 points.
Playoff-bound James Kenan (15-5 overall) logged an 11-3 worksheet against conference opposition this season.
North Duplin ended the year 3-17 overall.
