SWANSBORO -- Senior Ryan Morton earned Charles B. Aycock's lone pin in a season-ending, 53-18 loss to Swansboro in opening-round action of the 2014 N.C. High School Athletic Association 3-A dual-team playoffs.
Joshua Wallace, Jaret Paynter, Matt Teachey and Jacob Dickenson each won by decision. The injury-plagued Golden Falcons yielded five forfeits to the Pirates.
"Overall, I am very proud of our team this season," CBA head coach RJ Allen said. "We knew coming into this year it was going to be a little tougher than the previous year after graduating eight seniors. The team stepped up and learned so much this year.
"I am looking forward to many more years with this wrestling program and watching these young men become successful on the mat as well as in life."
Aycock concluded the year 11-12 overall.
