Rosewood girls crush Hobbton

NEWTON GROVE -- Lexi Mercer ended up just shy of a quadruple-double during Rosewood's 73-19 rout over Hobbton in their Carolina 1-A Conference battle Friday evening.
Mercer registered 20 points, 11 rebounds, seven steals and seven assists for the state-ranked Eagles. Alicia Burns tallied 11 points and three rebounds.
Deziree Baker provided 11 points and five rebounds.
Rosewood (15-1 overall, 8-0 Carolina) picked the Wildcats for 18 steals and had 15 team assists.
The Eagles, ranked No. 7 in the latest NCPreps.com 1-A poll, return to action Tuesday at James Kenan.
