Rosewood girls stay unbeaten in Carolina 1A hoops action

SMITHFIELD -- Sophomore Lexi Mercer led three Rosewood players in double figures with 18 points during a 60-20 rout of Carolina 1-A Conference newcomer Neuse Charter on Thursday evening.
Mercer grabbed seven rebounds, picked Neuse for five steals and dished out eight assists. Krystal Yelverton provided 14 points, five rebounds, six assists and three steals.
Alica Burns contributed 10 points.
Deziree Baker and Nekia Williams hauled down 14 and 11 rebounds, apiece. Rosewood had 47 rebounds, 19 steals and 18 assists as a team.
The Eagles (14-1 overall, 7-0 CC) travel to Hobbton today.
