Buchan leads Spring Creek girls to win

SEVEN SPRINGS -- Spring Creek made critical free throws in the final minute and turned back Jones Senior 55-51 on Wednesday night.
The victory was the first of the season for the Gators.
Spring Creek jumped ahead 17-7 in the first quarter. Amber Buchan hit a late 3-pointer in the second quarter to maintain the 10-point lead at the half.
The Trojans made a late charge in the second half behind some hot shooting from Fran Bromage, who finished with a game-high 29 points. Jones Senior closed within three points with two minutes to play before Buchan and Ashley Marriner each sank a pair of free throws to ice the win.
Buchan paced the Gators' with 19 points. Marriner added 17 points. Jazlyn Grimes and Tysha Teachey each chipped-in nine points.
Spring Creek (1-3 overall) visits South Lenoir on Tuesday.
