SALEMBURG -- Six players accounted for one touchdown apiece during Princeton's 41-13 triumph over Carolina 1-A Conference foe Lakewood on Saturday evening.

Senior Michael Wooten completed 12 of 20 passes for 185 yards for the Bulldogs, who seized sole possession of second place in the league at 4-1. Princeton (7-3 overall) concludes regular-season play at home Friday against archrival Rosewood.

Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.

"It was a tremendous team effort from running the ball to catching throws to special teams playing disciplined football," second-year PHS head coach Derrick Minor said. "Lakewood is well coached and played with a lot of sportsmanship."

Princeton compiled 521 yards of total offense. Johnny Frasier easily crossed 2,000-yard plateau with a 234-yard, one-touchdown performance on 21 carries. Wooten, Matt Hewett, Reggie Perry, Dillon Pace and Nick Hare provided one touchdown apiece.

Pace provided a 6-yard touchdown run in the opening quarter.

The Dogs erupted for 21 second-quarter points on scoring plays on Wooten's 10-yard TD run and 36-yard strike to Hare, and Hewett's 1-yard dive.

"Our goal was to be as balanced as possible and show that we could throw as well as run (the ball)," Minor said. "But also playing a really good Lakewood team, we had to show balance to make our run game work even better.

"Michael had an outstanding game."

Frasier broke loose for a 92-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. Perry capped Princeton's night with a 60-yard TD gallop in the final period.

Lakewood (6-4 overall, 3-2 CC) produced two meaningless second-half touchdowns against a Bulldog defense that came up with two key stops inside the red zone on possessions earlier in the game.

Cody Garner emerged the defensive leader with 10 tackles. Adrian Whack and Quinton Rhue logged seven stops apiece, while Martice Williams collected six tackles.

"Our defense played outstanding," Minor said.

Princeton and Lakewood met for the first time in regular-season play since 1996 and for the 15th time overall in series history. The Leopards hold an 11-4 advantage.
