East Duplin defeats North Lenoir in 2A soccer playoffs

BEAULAVILLE -- East Duplin scored two early goals and held off North Lenoir by a 5-1 final in the opening round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 2-A state playoffs.
North Lenoir's goal came in the 70th minute when Noah Reese headed home a pass from Andy Garcia. Jacob Baird led the Hawks' defense with 11 saves in net.
North Lenoir finishes the season 6-9-2 overall.
