North Duplin slips past James Kenan in 5 sets

CALYPSO -- Junior Chesney Brown cranked out a match-high 20 kills and North Duplin slipped past James Kenan 26-24, 19-25, 26-24, 21-25, 15-5 in a Carolina 1-A Conference match.
Brown also served five aces.
Junior Jennifer Barrow and sophomore Shaily McCarty provided nine kills apiece.
"(An) overall good effort from the all players with many good serves and few serving errors," first-year ND head coach Laura Thornton said.
The Rebels (3-5 overall, 3-3 CC) begin second-half conference play Tuesday at Rosewood.
