Preps digest: JV, middle schools

JV sports
* Volleyball: Rosewood d. Lakewood 25-17, 25-17 -- Ada Rivera distributed six assists for the Eagles (7-4 overall, 3-2 Carolina 1-A Conference). Hannah Daniels had three aces and three kills. Carrie Beckert added four digs. Payton Lane supplied three digs and two aces.
* Volleyball: South Lenoir d. Goldsboro 25-9, 25-5 -- The Cougars fell to 0-4 overall and 0-1 in Eastern Carolina 2-A Conference play.
* Volleyball: Pope John Paul d. Wayne Country Day 25-14, 25-19 -- The Chargers' Jessie Watson and Cheyenne Canuette each finished with six digs. Hannah Neal added four digs and Teriece Hawley had three aces.
Middle schools
* Football: Norwayne 32, Brogden 6 -- Noah Pilkington scored two touchdowns for the Cobras. Luke Frederick and Kamarion Graham each added a rushing touchdown. Kaleb Moore and Marquez Farmer both recovered a fumble defensively for Norwayne. Jordan Woodard forced a safety. Tyler Parrish, Alec Pine and Frederick led the defense in tackles. Norwayne visits Dillard on Sept. 19.
* Volleyball: Rosewood d. Mount Olive 25-17, 25-11, 25-5 -- Macy Tyndall recorded 10 service aces for the Eagles. Rosewood (2-0 overall) plays host to Spring Creek on Monday.
