Spring Creek 3,
Wayne Christian 0
* Kelsie Cayes recorded two kills and served three aces during Wayne Christian's 25-16, 25-19, 25-15 non-conference loss to Spring Creek inside Clifford Gymnatorium on Friday afternoon.
Brooke Slusher and Emily Wells added two kills apiece. Hannah Sladick logged one kill and one block.
Wayne Christian (1-6 overall) entertains Crossroads Christian on Tuesday.
Girls' tennis
North Duplin 9,
Rosewood 0
* North Duplin swept the singles and doubles courts during a 9-0 victory over Rosewood.
The match did not count toward the Carolina 1-A Conference standings.
Julissa Quintanilla, Jazmin Quintanilla, Casey Whitted, Hannah Smith, Connor Mikitka and Taylor Dilday each won their respective singles match in straight sets.
The Quintanilla sisters, Whitted-Smith and Hope Thornton-Delaney LoAlbo completed the sweep in doubles.
North Duplin improved to 2-0 overall this season. Rosewood is the guest of Southern Wayne on Monday afternoon.
Boys' soccer

Wayne Country Day 0
* NEW BERN -- Wayne Country Day opened its Coastal Plains Independent 1-A/2-A Conference schedule with a 3-0 loss to Epiphany on Friday afternoon.
The Falcons scored on a header, defensive miscue on a corner kick and a penalty kick.
Wayne Country Day dropped to 1-5-1 overall this season.
JV sports
* Boys' soccer: Epiphany 3, Wayne Country Day 1 -- DJ Drew tallied the Chargers' lone goal in the road loss.
* Volleyball: Wayne Christian d. Christ Covenant 25-12, 25-15 -- Wayne Christian improved to 5-2 overall and entertains Crossroads Christian on Tuesday.
