* RALEIGH -- Wayne Christian launched its Carolina Christian 1-A Conference schedule with a 21-25, 16-25, 26-28 loss to Neuse Christian on Friday evening.
Junior outside hitter Kelsie Cayes provided two kills. Freshman Mercy Wright had one kill and two blocks, while eighth-grade setter Kasey Norris served four aces.
The Eagles (0-4 overall, 0-1 CCC) travel to Cape Fear Christian on Tuesday.

* Volleyball: Wayne Christian d. Neuse Christian 25-20, 25-13 -- The Eagles (3-1 overall) won their Carolina Christian 1-A Conference opener. They visit CCC foe Cape Fear Christian on Tuesday.
