MOUNT OLIVE -- Too much water.
Wet fields at Mount Olive and Southern Wayne are unplayable, which has forced Wayne County Post 11 to postpone yet another Area I East Division baseball game.
Wayne County (13-5 overall) returns to action today for a doubleheader at Windsor. First pitch is 3 p.m. at Bertie High School.
Post 11 will entertain Pitt County on Monday and Albemarle-Elizabeth City on July 6. The Rocky Mount game has not been rescheduled at this time.
The top four teams advance to the season-ending Area I East playoffs, which begin July 7. Each round is a best-of-five series with the first game hosted by the higher-seeded team. The winner meets the Area I West champion to determine the automatic qualifier to the state tournament in Wilson.
