ECBL: Gators' Spurgeon throws complete-game shutout

KINSTON -- Chad Spurgeon threw a complete-game shutout during Spring Creek's 4-0 triumph over Parrott in Eastern Carolina Basebal League action Monday evening.
Spurgeon permitted two hits, fanned five Parrott batters and walked two.
Allen Coor paced SC's offense with two hits, including a double and an RBI. Spurgeon and Isaiah Core each drove in a run.
Spring Creek (2-7 overall) turned two double plays defensively and didn't commit an error.
The Gators travel to South Lenoir today.
