Strickland provides offense for C.B. Aycock

PIKEVILLE -- Alex Strickland scored five goals and Charles B. Aycock needed just 43 minutes to defeat South Johnston 9-0 in a mercy-rule shortened game in the first round of the Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference tournament.
The Golden Falcons travel to Eastern Wayne in tonight's ECC semifinals.
Cheyenne Warrick scored three times for Aycock and Niki Fitzmorris also scored. Warrick, Emily Borel and Sabrina Johnson all had two assists. Strickland and Cady Sheeks both contributed an assist.
