Chargers collect first CPIC win of the season

Wayne Country Day picked up its first Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference win with a 9-6 victory over Oakwood on Thursday afternoon.
Mitch Turnage (two RBI), Mason Bland (RBI) and Wyatt Bland (RBI) each had two hits for the Chargers. Cody Neal and John Strickland both provided a hit and an RBI. Zac Barfield and Jacob Magera each had an RBI.
Neal pitched a complete game and earned the win on the mound.
Wayne Country Day (7-10 overall, 1-5 CPIC) travels to Freedom Christian on Tuesday.
