Cougars compete in Carolina 1-A track meet

Goldsboro's Atleassia Carr emerged the discus winner and Shamonica Artis claimed the shot put event during a Carolina 1-A Conference girls' track and field meet contested at Rosewood High School.
The foursome of Nekooshia Kornegay, Josephine Grant, Kiara Lewis and Kaylah James won the 400-meter relay. The Cougars also captured the 800 relay.
On the boys' side, Jacob Seate secured victories in the 800-, 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs. Antonio Futrelle placed first in the long jump and 200-meter dash.
Goldsboro won the 800 and 1,600 relays.
