Rebels snap 3-game skid on baseball diamond

CLINTON -- North Duplin pounded out nine hits and rolled past Lakewood 6-0 on the second day of the Clinton Easter Invitational.
Mitchell Thigpen led the Rebels with three hits and three RBI. Trey Pate and Bryce Best each added one hit and one RBI.
Pate lasted four innings on the pitcher's mound to earn the victory.
Clinton pushed across six runs on five hits during a sixth-inning outburst and handed North Duplin a 7-2 loss in opening-round play Tuesday evening.
Taylan Lewis (RBI) and Pate (RBI) provided one hit apiece for the Rebels
Mitchell Thigpen fanned eight batters and took the pitching loss.
North Duplin (9-4 overall) entertains defending Carolina 1-A Conference champion Ayden-Grifton next Tuesday.
