Wendorf, Saints defeat Triton

DUDLEY -- Southern Wayne opened its Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference schedule with an 8-1 win over Triton on Friday night.
Cody Wendorf earned the win on the pitcher's mound. Wendorf lasted six innings, allowed one earned run and struck out 10 batters.
Jacob Sasser led the Saints at the plate with two hits and two runs batted in. Garrett Whitfield added two hits. Kevin Williams, Thomas Kelly and Nathan Barwick each tallied one hit in the win.
Southern Wayne (3-1 overall, 1-0 ECC) will travel to Clevleand on Tuesday.
