Eastern Wayne claims ECC road baseball win

CLAYTON -- Eastern Wayne used a solid defnesive effort and quality pitching to drop Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference rival Cleveland 7-1 on Friday night.
Jeremy Lancaster led the Warriors at the plate with three hits and one RBI. Grayson Wells, Josh Dixon, Tyler Huetter, Brandon Johnson and Ryan Kelly each added one hit in the win.
Lancaster got the win on the pitcher's mound on the strength of 4 2/3 innings of work that included four strikeouts.
Eastern Wayne (2-1 overall, 1-1 ECC) visits Wilson Hunt on Monday.
