PIKEVILLE -- Defending 3-A state champion Charles B. Aycock remained unbeaten in Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference action with a 10-1 triumph over North Lenoir on Friday evening.
Keeley Fulham crushed a two-run home run during a four-hit, six-RBI performance. Outfielder Katie Gay contributed three hits.
Junior right-hander Meredith Burroughs, the reigning ECC player-of-the-year, tossed a three-hitter inside the pitcher's circle. She fanned seven in a complete-game effort.
The Golden Falcons (2-1 overall, 2-0 ECC) travel to South Johnston on Tuesday. Aycock and South tied for the ECC regular-season championship last spring.
