TRENTON -- Isaiah Core and Zach Falconer provided two hits and two RBI apiece during Goldsboro's 6-5, non-conference loss to Jones Senior on Thursday afternoon.
Cayce Herring added two hits. Thomas Vick (RBI), Blake Mayo and Jamal Moses each delivered one hit. Moses scored twice.
Marlon Thomas endured the complete-game loss on the mound.
"The first inning killed us, they scored four and we didn't come out ready to play," second-year Goldsboro head coach Jackson Massey said. "I'm very proud of Marlon, he threw his butt off. Our guys battled through the whole game, we just have to play all seven innings of fundamental baseball."
The Cougars (0-3 overall) open their home schedule next Wednesday against Hobbton.
