North Duplin stays perfect on baseball diamond

CALYPSO -- North Duplin erupted for nine runs in the third inning of a 15-7, non-conference win over James Kenan on Tuesday evening.
Charlie Holloman led the Rebels with three hits and two RBI. Blake Rhodes tallied two hits and four RBI. Cedrick Kornegay (RBI) and Bryce Best each contributed two hits.
Trey Pate (three RBI), Mitchell Thigpen (RBI), James Britt and Tyler Potter all had a hit. Taylen Lewis hit a home run and finished with two RBI.
North Duplin pounded out 14 hits and drew nine walks.
Lewis earned the win on the mound with 2 1/3 innings of two-run relief.
The Rebels (4-0 overall) visit Hobbton today.
