Southern Wayne knocks off Rocky Mount

ROCKY MOUNT -- Southern Wayne got its offense going early in a 10-3, season-opening win on Thursday at Rocky Mount.
Cody Wendorf (two RBI) and Nathan Barwick each collected two hits for the Saints. Garrad Whitfield and Jacob Hollingsworth both provided a hit and an RBI. Taylor Raynor, Thomas Kelly and Clayton Cashwell each had a hit.
Jackson Hayes and Hollingsworth combined to hold the Gryphons to three hits while recording six strikeouts.
Southern Wayne (1-0 overall) travels to D.H. Conley today.
