PRINCETON -- Rosewood used a solid defensive effort to turn back Princeton 53-36 on Tuesday evening.

The Eagles effectively used their 2-3 zone scheme to deny the Bulldogs the ability to penetrate off the dribble and took away entry passes to the post. Rosewood forced 28 turnovers.

Savanna Massengill was the lone Bulldog to score in double figures with 16 points.

"Savanna Massengill is one of the best players in the conference," Eagles' head coach Ryan Wells said. "We busted our tails on the 2-3 zone and extended it out and we also closed out on their shooters."

Rosewood's Lexi Mercer led all scorers with 26 points and Alicia Burns added 11.

Princeton (8-7 overall, 2-2 CC) travels to Ayden-Grifton tonight. The Eagles (11-5, 4-1) visit Ayden-Grifton on Friday.
