JV sports

* Boys' basketball: Wayne Country Day 75, Greenfield 50 -- Tyrique McClain led six Chargers in double figures with 17 points. Jacob Magera scored 13. Jason Jones and Corey Carpenter supplied 12 points apiece. Tony Townsend and Preston Edwards chipped in 11 and 10 points, respectively. Wayne Country Day (7-2 overall) improved to 2-1 in Coastal Plains Independent 1-A Conference play and plays host to Trinity Christian-Fayetteville on Wednesday.

* Girls' basketball: Greenfield 21, Wayne Country Day 7 -- Anna Allen paced the Chargers' offense with three points. WCDS (1-7 overall, 0-4 CPIC) entertains The Epiphany School on Friday.

Middle schools

* Boys' basketball: Greenfield 34, Wayne Country Day 23 -- Mitch Turnage emerged the lone Charger in double figures with 10 points. WCDS (6-3 overall, 3-1 CPIC) welcomes Trinity Christian-Fayetteville on Wednesday afternoon.
