JV sports
* Boys' basketball: Eastern Wayne 60, Southern Nash 48 -- Jaylin Thomas contributed 16 points, eight rebounds and three blocked shots for the victorious Warriors. Zeke Martin supplied 15 points and seven rebounds. Dameko Artis logged seven points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Darian Applewhite distributed seven assists. Eastern Wayne (7-2 overall) plays host to New Bern today.
Middle schools
* Girls' basketball: Norwayne 30, Eastern Wayne 13 -- Tanika Powell led the Cobras with 13 points. Connor Vinson added six points in the win. Norwayne improved to 6-0 overall, while Eastern Wayne dropped to 5-1 on the season.
