Goldsboro quartet claims medley relay in annual SEIC meet

Goldsboro emerged victorious in the men's 200-yard medley relay, and a trio of swimmers took home individual gold medals from the eighth annual Southeastern Intercollegiate Championship meet contested at the Family Y.

The Cougars' foursome of Logan Cole, Victor Prezbindowski, Zach Darden and Christian Martens logged a first-place time of 1 minute, 52.53 seconds in the relay.

Southern Wayne's medley relay of Chad Davis, Myles Davis, Austin Edgecomb and Lonnie Medlin placed sixth in 2:20.57. Rosewood's quartet of Daniel Evans, Wes Chandler, Kodey Silknitter and Garner Beasley ended up seventh.

Cole, Darden and Chad Davis combined to win six individual titles.

Cole recorded first-place times of 53.95 in the 100 butterfly and 57.28 in the 100 back. Darden captured the 200 individual medley in 2:07.6 and 100 freestyle in 51.42. Davis secured victories in the 500 free (5:24.68) and 200 free (1:53.2).

Prezbindowski took third in the 200 IM and fourth in the 100 breaststroke. Edgecomb was fourth in the 500 free and seventh in the 100 fly.

Goldsboro's foursome of Maddie Vera, Olivia Paul, Kaylee Lyon and Ally Brown took third in the 200 medley relay. Paul placed fourth in the 200 free (2:42.85) and ninth in the 100 breaststroke.

Lyon was third in the 100 fly and eighth in the 100 free, while fellow Cougar Heather Wurtele took fifth in the 100 fly.

Rosewood's Amber Flood, Stormie Hatem, Kim Bomin and Kimberly Scott posted a fifth-place finish in the 200 medley relay. Teammate Cierra Satterfield was fourth in the 50 free and sixth in the 100 breaststroke.

Southern Wayne's Chloe Edwards was ninth in the 50 free.
