Rosewood boys, girls take XC meet at Princeton

PRINCETON -- Three points separated three teams during the third Carolina 1-A Conference boys' cross country meet contested at Princeton High School.
Rosewood defeated Spring Creek 46-49, and Goldsboro finished third with 50 points. The Bulldogs collected 84 points, followed by North Duplin with 96.
Midway and North Johnston participated as non-league teams.
The Gators' Allen Coor finished second overall in 18 minutes, 31 seconds. Princeton's Will Toler placed sixth in 19:20 and was followed to the finish line by Goldsboro's Victor Prezbindowski in 19:44.
Rosewood's Dylan Cuddington placed eighth in 19:52.
On the girls' side, Rosewood had four finishers among the top 10, led by Charleigh Smith's third-place time of 24:58. The Eagles posted 24 points, compared to 54 for the Cougars and 57 for the Bulldogs.
Rosewood's Kasie Elliott and Ashley Duran crossed the line in fourth and fifth, respectively. North Duplin's Samantha Wilkins claimed seventh in 27:10. The Eagles' Brynna Lee grabbed eighth overall.
Goldsboro's Grayson Collins finished second in 24:51.
