Threatening weather that eventually brought rain suspended play between Carolina 1-A Conference tennis rivals Goldsboro and North Duplin on Thursday afternoon.
The Cougars led 4-1 with one singles match still in progress when the coaches agreed to finish the contest at a later date.
It was the season opener for Goldsboro.
North Duplin, which returns three starters, launched its 2012 campaign with a 6-3 win over Ayden-Grifton on Tuesday.
