• La GRANGE -- North Lenoir made a big play at a big moment and held on for a 19-14 win over West Montgomery on Friday night.
The Hawks executed a perfect fake punt with two minutes to play and kicker Caleb Baird ran for a first down which allowed the Hawks to run out the clock.
Devonte Sutton led the North Lenoir offense with 102 yards on the ground and one touchdown. Marsharee Troy added 81 yards and one score. Baird capped the Hawks' scoring with a pair of field goals.
North Lenoir (1-1 overall) travels to Kinston next Friday.
