Midway 62,

Princeton 30

• SPIVEY'S CORNER -- Princeton let an early opportunity get away and Midway capitalized en route to a 62-30 victory on Friday night.

After recovering an onside kick to open the game and driving the ball to the Raiders' two-yard line, a fumble gave the ball back to Midway. The Raiders scored on the ensuing possession and never trailed in the game.

Ryne Woodard booted a 21-yard field goal to get the Bulldogs on the board in the opening quarter. Johnny Frasier reached the end zone on a 37-yard scamper to open the second period and Michael Wooten scored from five yards out to pull Princeton within 34-15 at the half.

"It was one of those games where they could not stop our offense and we could not stop theirs," Princeton head coach Derrick Minor said. "We had plenty of chances to score points. We just did not do a good enough job of making plays on defense."

Frasier added two touchdown runs in the third quarter to cap the Bulldogs' scoring total. Frasier finished with 190 yards rushing on 16 carries. Wooten added 68 yards on the ground and one score.

Princeton (0-2 overall) plays host to Dixon on Friday.
