South Johnston 0
* FOUR OAKS -- Eastern Wayne began Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference play on Tuesday afternoon with a 9-0 win at South Johnston.
Savannah Sutton, Grace Delbridge, Blake Govan, McKenna Dove, Cameron Dove and Brittney Brinson each collected a singles victory for the Warriors. The doubles teams of Sutton-McKenna Dove, Delbridge-Govan and Cameron Dove-Brittney Brinson also won.
Eastern Wayne (2-0 overall, 1-0 ECC) continues ECC play Thursday at Cleveland.
Triton 5, C.B. Aycock 4
* ERWIN -- Triton won all three doubles matches and held off Charles B. Aycock for a 5-4 win Tuesday afternoon in Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference play.
Ashton Walker, Katie Gurley, Rachel Jackson and Cassidy Coerber all provided singles victories.
The Golden Falcons (2-2 overall, 0-1 ECC) continue ECC play Thursday at home against North Lenoir.
Wilson Hunt 7,
Southern Wayne 2
* DUDLEY -- Southern Wayne endured a 7-2, non-conference loss to Wilson Hunt on Tuesday afternoon.
Hope Jones and Claire Kennedy both recorded a win in singles play for the Saints.
Southern Wayne (2-2 overall) begins Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference play at home Thursday against Triton.
Volleyball
Wayne Country Day 3,
Community Christian 0
* Wayne Country Day disposed of Community Christian 25-17, 25-21, 25-21 on Tuesday evening.
Rachel Uzzell handed out 21 assists for the Chargers. Sarah Crooks had seven kills, five digs and five aces. Hannah Pearson supplied 10 digs and six kills. Bailee Creger added seven digs and five kills. Jessica Zhou contributed seven digs.
Wayne Country Day (3-1 overall) visits Goldsboro on Thursday.
North Johnston 3,
Rosewood 1
* North Johnston defeated Rosewood 25-21, 19-25, 25-23, 25-14 on Tuesday evening.
Anna Ingram distributed 11 assists for the Eagles. Ellen Morgan had nine blocks, eight kills and four aces. Crystal Allen supplied seven blocks, while Samantha Allen provided seven blocks and two kills.
Rosewood (3-2 overall) plays host to Eastern Wayne on Thursday.
Eastern Wayne 3,
Greene Central 0
* Eastern Wayne swept Greene Central 25-20, 25-12, 25-16 on Tuesday evening in New Hope.
Kaitlyn Napier led the Rams with five kills and three aces. Casey Herring and Jordan Sutton each provided two kills.
Spring Creek 3, Hobbton 0
* NEWTON GROVE -- Spring Creek picked up a 25-11, 25-12, 25-17 win on Tuesday evening at Hobbton.
Sarah Ford contributed 10 assists and three kills for the Gators. Rachel McCullom had seven kills, six aces and four digs. Gracia Aguirre supplied seven digs and four aces. Olivia Martinez had six kills and three aces.
Spring Creek (2-1 overall) entertains Southern Wayne on Thursday.
Wilson Hunt 3,
C.B. Aycock 1
* WILSON -- C.B. Aycock squandered set points early in the match and Wilson Hunt rallied in the fourth during a 25-15, 28-26, 19-25, 25-17 triumph over C.B. Aycock on Tuesday afternoon.
The Golden Falcons (0-3 overall) couldn't convert four set points in their second-set loss. They allowed the Warriors, who swept the regular-season series, to score the final nine points of the match after leading 17-16.
"Mental, but Hunt had something to do with it, too," Aycock head coach Davis Harris said. "Hunt doesn't let the ball hit the floor whatsoever."
Aycock Junior Meredith Burroughs cranked out 12 kills, while Madison Mercer contributed 11.
The Golden Falcons entertain Wilson Beddingfield on Thursday.

* Volleyball: Rosewood d. North Johnston 25-20, 25-11 -- Jordan Martens recorded four digs and three service aces for the Eagles. Ashley Thornton contributed three aces and three digs. Ashlynn Spell and Emily Brock each added three digs. Freshman Lexi Mercer had three blocks. Rosewood (4-1 overall) entertains Eastern Wayne on Thursday.
* Volleyball: Greene Central d. Eastern Wayne 25-22, 25-19 -- The Rams earned a non-conference, road win on Tuesday afternoon.
* Volleyball: Hobbton d. Spring Creek 25-3, 25-8 -- Sydney Ocker led the Gators with eight aces. Lexie Reyes added three aces and three assists.
* Volleyball: Wilson Hunt d. C.B. Aycock 25-17, 25-15 -- Allie Phillies served six aces for the Golden Falcons, who exited 0-3 overall this season.
