Hawks take top 3 spots in cross country meet

SNOW HILL -- Zach Respess led North Lenoir to a 1-2-3 finish during a season-opening, 21-36 triumph over Greene Central on Wednesday afternoon.
Respess ran the 5K course in 21 minutes, 9 seconds. Teammates Orlando Cannon (21:22) and Marshall Letchworth (21:39) crossed the line second and third, respectively.
Greene Central's tandem of Nick Suggs (22:04) and Hunter Murphy (22:51) completed the top five.
The Hawks had six runners to place among the top 10.
Greene Central's Sarah Coats was the lone girl to run and finished the trek in 26:09.
