MOUNT OLIVE -- Junior outside hitter Adam Miracle pounded out a career-high and school-record 28 kills, and Mount Olive turned back in-state archrival Lees-McRae 22-25, 30-32, 25-22, 25-18, 15-11 at Kornegay Arena on Saturday evening.

Miracle emerged as the first-ever Trojan to record 20-plus kills in a match. Noel Garcia and Christiaan Rombaut each recorded 19 kills against King (Tenn.) College in 2010.

Senior setter Jackson Metichecchia passed out a career-high 63 assists -- five shy of the single-match record set by Zach Wilson, who is the program's all-time assists leader. Metichecchia's outing tied for the fifth-highest, single-match output in program history. He also served a match-high three aces to go with 11 digs on defense.

Tim Ebbecke logged six of his match-high nine blocks in the final three sets, while Jack Tutty recorded five of his six blocks after the second set. Libero Dan Arnold collected 12 digs for the Trojans, who won their third consecutive Conference Carolinas match.

MOC posted a team hitting percentage of .400 in each of the final two sets, tallying 26 kills and only six errors in its last 50 attack attempts of the match.

Miracle recorded kills on the final two points of the fourth set to even the best-of-five match at 2-all. The Trojans (7-12 overall, 4-2 CC) never trailed in the fifth set and after five consecutive side outs, they pulled away for the win.

Mount Olive entertains Division I St. Francis (Pa.) University on Monday. First serve is 7 p.m. inside Kornegay Arena.
