Princeton 51, Hobbton 32
* PRINCETON -- Princeton forced 11 turnovers in the third quarter, went on a 22-4 run and claimed a 51-32, non-conference victory over Hobbton on Wednesday evening.
The Bulldogs led 21-16 at the half and used a full-court press to create turnovers and transition opportunities. The Wildcats committed four turnovers in the first three minutes of the third quarter as the lead swelled to 31-16.
"Creating turnovers was very important because we weren't executing very well in the halfcourt against their 2-3 zone," Princeton head coach Marty Gurganus said. "The press worked for us better in the third quarter than it had the whole game. We made some adjustments at halftime and talked about the rotation on the press. We were hoping the press would create some easy baskets for us."
Nicole Melvin led the Bulldogs with 18 points. Megan Gerrell supplied 14 points. Savanna Massengill added 11 points and six rebounds.
