Wayne Christian falls on the pitch

Wayne Christian erased one two-goal deficit Monday evening.
The Eagles couldn't do it a second time.
Chang Sub-Lee's go-ahead goal around the 28th minute started a late first-half explosion, and Fayetteville Christian out-dueled Wayne Christian, 7-3, on the Eagles' pitch.
The Warriors (1-0-0 overall) controlled possession throughout the non-conference affair and finished with a 27-10 advantage in shots. Each team delivered its fair share of hard tackles and just 14 fouls were called. The two-referee crew issued five yellow cards -- four to Fayetteville Christian.
"We played a physical team and I don't know if our team was ready to play a team like that," said WCS head coach Daryl Anderson. "Soccer-wise, we might could play with them. Our midfield and our strikers are experienced, but we've got some young defenders. Our two goalies are young.
"I would say half of their goals were due to lack of communication in the back."
Fayetteville Christian quickly broke the scoreless tie around the five-minute mark of the opening half. The Warriors capitalized on a defensive mistake and Kiyoan Bae -- his back to the net -- headed in a corner kick from Daniel Brew.
Bae finished with two goals and three assists.
Bae and Regent Perez teamed up for Fayetteville's next shot, which was deflected by Wayne Christian keeper David Swets. Austin Kleffman followed and tucked it away at the near post to make it 2-0.
The Eagles (0-2-0) battled back over the next 10 minutes.
Victor Kokiko cleaned up a shot by teammate Connor Jones, that glanced off Warriors goalie Nathan Hewitt. In the 25th minute, Chase Darden knocked in the first of two penalty kicks to forge a 2-2 tie.
"We were flat on our back," said Anderson. "We didn't quit. After that is when the communication broke down in the back, and we gave up those three quick goals. I praised the team for not giving up.
"We were just out-manned. They are a good team ... strong, fast with good ball control. We couldn't stay with them, everything was fast and we're not used to playing a team like that."
Sub-Lee's shot ignited a three-goal outburst, which gave the Warriors a 5-2 cushion at halftime. Brew scored off Bae's assist and Bae added an unassisted goal.
Adam Yow tallied the Warriors' second-half goals.
Darden collected his second PK midway through the final half.
The Eagles return home Thursday for a JV-varsity doubleheader against archrival Wayne Country Day. Kickoff is 5:30 p.m.
