Boys' soccer

Wallace-Rose Hill 4, Princeton 3

* PRINCETON -- Trevor Haines collected one goal and assisted on another in Princeton's 4-3, non-conference loss to Wallace-Rose Hill on Monday evening.

Ethan Anderson and Josh Boykin each scored for the Dawgs.

Juan Duran had one assist.

Keepers Will Toler and Zach Parker recorded seven and five saves, respectively.

Princeton (0-3-0 overall) entertains Midway on Wednesday.

Volleyball

Community Christian 3, Wayne Country Day 0

* WILSON -- Rachel Uzzell collected two kills in Wayne Country Day's 25-17, 25-16, 25-11, non-conference loss to Community Christian on Monday afternoon.

Bailee Creger provided two service aces and one kill. Sarah Crooks had one dig, while Brooke Neal contributed one ace and one dig.

The Chargers (2-2 overall) travel to Spring Creek today.

Golf

Douglas scores ace

* Dave Douglas recorded his first-ever hole-in-one while playing at Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course on Aug. 21. Douglas used an 8-iron to ace No. 16.

Michael Sarvis and Clark Hill witnessed the feat.

Middle schools

* Boys' soccer: Wayne Christian 3, Fayetteville Christian JV 2 -- Jackson Anderson notched the game-winning goal on Chandler Gentry's assist. Matthew Coulter and David Swets also scored for the Eagles. Tanner Rose collected four saves between the pipes. It was the season opener for Wayne Christian.
