Mercer, Warrick pace CBA soccer team at home

PIKEVILLE -- Madison Mercer notched the game-winning goal in the third minute, and Charles B. Aycock rolled past Triton, 7-0, at Hardy Talton Stadium on Friday evening.
Cheyenne Warrick provided four goals, including a natural hat trick (three straight goals) for the Golden Falcons, who improved to 11-2-0 overall and 7-0-0 in Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference play.
Mercer added a second goal in the 60th minute.
Alex Strickland converted a penalty kick in the 76th minute and handed out one assist. Emily Borel dished out three assists, while Samantha Parrish distributed one assist.
Casey Scarboro recorded six saves and collected her seventh shutout between the pipes this season.
Aycock travels to North Lenoir on Tuesday. Kickoff is 7 p.m. at Bullock Field.
