DUDLEY -- Rosewood broke a school record and claimed another win on the Carolina 1-A Conference boys' golf scene on Wednesday afternoon.

The Eagles fired a four-man total of 305, seven strokes better than the previous school mark which was recorded earlier this season, and blew past the field at Southern Wayne Country Club.

Rosewood head coach Daniel Baynes was not surprised to see the low number on the score sheet. One of his students had called it earlier in the day.

"It was funny because one of my kids had written 305 on the board in my room during first period," Baynes said. "I told them that a number like that would be nearly impossible, and now it's amazing to know we did it."

Freshman Nick Adams fired the medalist round with a 1-over par 72 to lead the Eagles. Andrew Henn added a 73, Blake Weaver shot 76 and Bret Robinson turned in a round of 84. Adams rallied with three consecutive birdies to open the back nine and rolled to a 3-under 32 on that side.

"Our whole team is underclassmen which bodes well for the future," Baynes said. "I really feel good about where this team is going and I feel like it is our regional to lose this season. I want my guys to feel like we are the favorites every time we go out to play."

Spring Creek finished second in the team standings with 325. Ayden-Grifton (380), Princeton (387), Goldsboro (393) and North Duplin (402) rounded out the field.

Justin Casey led the Gators with a round of 78. Jordan Edwards (80), James Lancaster (82) and Paul Sullivan (85) completed the Spring Creek total.

Ryne Woodard (85) paced Princeton. Joel Hines (98), Charles Rhodes (101) and Cody Price (103) each recorded scores that counted toward the team total.

Jeff Johnson led Goldsboro with a round of 85.

Ryan Hines emerged as North Duplin's top performer with a 94.

The teams meet again next Wednesday for another conference meet at Ayden Country Club.
