Saints girls hang on for ECC home win

DUDLEY -- Southern Wayne weathered a late scoring-drought and hung on for a 40-30 win over Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference foe Cleveland on Friday night.
The Saints led 35-22 midway through the third quarter before going scoreless for more than 10 minutes. The Rams used an 8-0 run to pull within 35-30.
Southern Wayne got a pair of key layups late in the game from Ineka Williams to seal the victory. Kanesha Jones led the Saints with 10 points and Danielle Carlton supplied nine points. Williams had eight points
Cleveland's Courtney Morris scored a game-high 13 points.
