Postponements

Early-morning rain and an unfavorable forecast caused the postponement of numerous contests involving teams in the News-Argus readership area on Wednesday.

Here is the list of postponed events:

* Charles B. Aycock-Triton boys' soccer -- match has been rescheduled for Oct. 19. The Golden Falcons escaped Southern Wayne, 2-1, in overtime on Tuesday and remained unbeaten in Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference play.

* Eastern Wayne-South Johnston boys' soccer -- match was moved to Oct. 5 at Little Big Horn. Kickoff is 7 p.m. The Trojans are the reigning ECC champions and have yet to lose in 15 regular-season league contests since joining the conference a year ago.

* Carolina 1-A cross country -- no make-up date announced.

* Princeton at Spring Creek boys' soccer -- no make-up date announced.

* C.B. Aycock at Triton girls' tennis -- match moved to Friday afternoon.
