Volleyball

Wayne Christian 3, Spring Creek 0

* SEVEN SPRINGS -- Wayne Christian started strong and never looked back in a straight-set victory at Spring Creek on Monday night.

Courtney Albritton led the Eagles with 10 kills. Jessica Swets delivered seven kills and did not have a hitting error for the second consecutive match. Katie Isenhower dished out 19 assists.

Libero Haley Greenwood recorded 18 digs. Britney O'Hara and Rachel McCollum served five and four aces, respectively.

Wayne Christian (7-8 overall) will host Northwood Temple today.

Kelsey Rogers led the Gators with nine kills. Lolita Correna handed out seven assists. Brittany Collier contributed five assists, two aces and two blocks.

Bianca Morado added two kills and two blocks.

Spring Creek (2-7 overall) travels to North Duplin today.

Postponements

* Monday's heavy rainfall postponed several contests involving teams in the News-Argus coverage area.

Weather permitting, Charles B. Aycock travels to county rival Southern Wayne for an Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference boys' soccer affair. The Golden Falcons are unbeaten in league play.

Neither the Rosewood-Southern Wayne girls' tennis match nor the Rosewood-Princeton boys' soccer match has been rescheduled at this time.

JV sports

* Volleyball: Wayne Christian d. Spring Creek 25-18, 23-25, 25-18 -- Olivia Martivez paced the Spring Creek attack with seven aces. Diana Correna added three aces and two asissts. Spring Creek fell to 1-8 overall.

Middle schools

* Volleyball: Norwayne d. Rosewood 25-21, 25-13, 25-20 -- Norwayne emerged victorious in a matchup of unbeaten teams on Tuesday afternoon. Rosewood was led by Callie Thornton's six kills. Lexi Mercer finished with six aces and four kills. Norwayne (5-0 overall) plays host to Greenwood on Thursday. Rosewood (5-1) travels to Mount Olive the same afternoon.
