BEAUFORT -- Rosewood eliminated the turnovers that had plagued its offense in each of the past two weeks in a 35-12, non-conference win at East Carteret on Friday night.
The Eagles scored on their opening possession on Logan Waters' 1-yard touchdown run.
East Carteret cut the lead to 7-6 early in the second quarter. Jyhkia Applewhite's 75-yard kickoff return set up his own 2-yard score.
Waters added a 1-yard score and T.J. Frost hauled in a 10-yard touchdown pass from Taylor McGill.
"We moved the ball well all night long," said Rosewood head coach Robert Britt. "One thing that helped us a lot was we didn't turn the ball over. The last two games we had nine turnovers. Last night, we didn't have any.
"We've been playing good defense lately, and last night we were able to get the ball back to our offense and be productive."
Rosewood (2-4 overall) opens its Carolina 1-A Conference season at home against Ayden-Grifton.
