Lady Trojans blanked at Pembroke

PEMBROKE -- UNC Pembroke collected three goals in the final 20 minutes and handed Mount Olive a 3-1 loss on the women's college soccer scene Thursday afternoon.
It was the season opener for both teams.
Lindsey Stanley converted a penalty kick in the 44th minute, and gave the Trojans a 1-0 advantage at halftime. MOC ripped four shots, including three on goal, in the first 13 minutes of the match and finished with 10 shots overall.
UNCP earned the equalizer in the 71st minute. The Braves scored again four minutes later and tallied the final goal in the 84th minute.
MOC keeper Lyndsey McIntyre recorded five saves.
The Trojans (0-1-0 overall) travel to Montreat College for a two-day invitational this weekend. MOC faces Oklahoma Baptist on Saturday and Truett-McConnell on Sunday.
