MOUNT OLIVE -- Mount Olive College, which returns just two starters off last year's team, is predicted to finish fourth in the 2010 Conference Carolinas women's volleyball preseason poll.

The Trojans triumphed in 11 of their final 13 matches a year ago, and concluded the season 13-19 overall.

League powerhouse Lees-McRae is tabbed to successfully defend its regular-season championship from 2009. The Bobcats received seven of the league's 10 first-place votes, while Pfeiffer drew the remaining three first-place nods.

Limestone was selected third, followed by MOC. The remaining poll order is Erskine, Belmont Abbey, Barton, Queens, Converse and Coker.

Senior Kailey Preece ended up second on the team in blocks last year and third in team service aces. The 6-footer will play outside and opposite hitter this season for the Trojans, who open their 2010 campaign Sept. 3 at the Anderson (S.C.) University Invitational.

Brooke Norris, a 5-8 sophomore, took over the libero position midway through last season. Tiffany Hight, a 5-9 outside hitter, steps onto the court after red-shirting in 2009. Hight transferred from the University of Dubuque (Iowa), where she played for current MOC head coach Cole Tallman.

The Trojans will play 18 conference games -- home and away.
