TARBORO -- Logan Wicks doubled and drove in two runs, and Wayne County North turned back Tarboro 4-2 on the Junior American Legion baseball scene Friday.
Wicks, Nolan James, Jake May and Tyler Ware (RBI) each finished with one hit in the road victory.
James emerged the winning pitcher, limiting Tarboro to two earned runs on two hits in four-plus innings of action. Justin Lee threw one-third of an inning and Josh Dixon collected the save with 2 1/3 innings of spotless relief.
Wayne County North (5-4 overall) travels to Wayne County South on Monday. First pitch is 7 p.m. at the Doyle Whitfield Athletic Complex.

Goldsboro splits
The Wayne County Falcons scored an extra-inning run in the opener, and split a 15-Under Babe Ruth baseball doubleheader with Goldsboro on Friday.
The Falcons prevailed 6-5, while Goldsboro took the nightcap, 8-4.
Kevin Williams, Nick Flores, Nick Leggett, Kalin Johnson and Jordan Salter had one hit apiece for the Falcons in game one. Goldsboro was led offensively by M.J. Morgan (double), A.J. Lane, Sam Ferrell, Trey Hammonds, Sherard Harvin and Trey Stevens.
In the second game, Lane recorded five strikeouts and surrendered no earned runs in a five-inning stint. Lane, Asunji Maddox, Ferrell, Hammonds, Harvin and Stevens each had one hit in the win.
Goldsboro improved to 4-4 overall.
