LAKE WACCAMAW -- East Columbus scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to rally past Spring Creek 6-2 in the second round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association 1-A baseball playoffs on Tuesday night.

The Gators picked up a run in the second inning and scored again in the fourth to take a 2-0 lead.

Only two of East Columbus' runs were earned and Spring Creek was plagued by three errors in the sixth inning.

Eric Evans and Ricky Brayboy both collected two hits for the Gators. Dontay Boseman and Corey Howell each added a hit.

Duane Gurganus took the loss on the mound, surrendering six runs (two earned) on six hits with six strikeouts.

Spring Creek finished the season 13-10 overall.

Walnut Creek LGA

Gaye Bryant claimed low gross during weekly play on the Walnut Creek Country Club links.

Joyce Reynolds and Beverly Ives captured low net and low putts, respectively.

Lane Tree LGA

Nan Jarrell emerged the game-of-the-week winner during action at Lane Tree Golf Club.

Linda Watson and Betty Jean Gurley won low net and low putts, respectively.
