SPRING LAKE -- Ryan Campbell tied for eighth out of 90 golfers and Mount Olive finished fourth out of 17 teams at the Carolina Sands Men's Golf Intercollegiate contested at the Carolina Sands Golf Club.

Campbell, a Charles B. Aycock alum, followed up Friday's 1-under round with an even-par 73 on Saturday. The two-day, 144-stroke total allowed Campbell to finish just four strokes out of first place.

Scott Woodard and Kyle Simpson tied for 11th with identical 1-over-par 145s. Woodard shot 71 on Saturday. Simpson, whose total did not count towards the Trojans' team score, shot even-par 72 on Friday and 73 on Saturday.

Fabrizio Ceppi (152) and Eastern Wayne alum Kyle Ham (152) tied for 47th. Clark Rose (153) tied for 52nd, Steven Aster (158) tied for 73rd and Martin Brekko (159) finished 77th. Ceppi's and Ham's scores were included in the Trojans' team score.

Mount Olive carded back-to-back sub-300 rounds with a 297 in the first round and a 296 in the second round for a 36-hole score of 593. The Trojans finished five shots behind third-place St. Andrews and four strokes ahead of fifth-place Lindenwood (Mo.).

Coker claimed its third consecutive team championship.

The tournament concluded regular season play for Mount Olive. The Trojan men's and women's golf teams compete in the 2010 Conference Carolinas Championships on Apr. 18-20 at Clemmons.
